A new band for Buddy Lackey of Psychotic Waltz (he plays here under the name Devon Graves). Both the music and the vocals are far removed from PW, and anyone expecting another PW sounding band will surely be disappointed. All comparisons aside, Dead Soul Tribe are a talented young band who play a groove-oriented metal with occassional progressive moments. Think of a more melodic version of Tool mixed with melodic prog. Good stuff, but nothing groundbreaking.
One thing that really stands out to me is the incredible production job by Lackey. Each instrument sounds crisp and distinct, and none are overbearing or out of place.
