Nevermore are a newer incarnation of the classic American power metal band Sanctuary (really, only 2 members of Sanctuary are involved, but the debut is very much like them). Basically, Nevermore take the classic Sanctuary sound, combine it with a Bay Area thrash sound a la Forbidden, and turn it up to the nth degree. Excellent musicianship, thought-provoking lyrics, and every other element that makes a classic metal band. Extremely highly recommended, any self-respecting metalhead would be ashamed not to have their entire catalog in his collection. Vocalist Warrel Dane has an excellent range, showcasing mid-range clean melodic vocals (not overly-melodic, but not rough). One of the only metal vocalists I truly enjoy.

After a much publicized, lengthy fight with their label Century Media (which resulted in an extremely low budget production/mastering job on EoR, which was the last release on their existing contract), Nevermore re-signed to Century Media. They subsequently remastered "Enemies of Reality" and sold a caseless version for $5.00 on their webstore. That deal ended long ago, but the full version of the remaster can still be purchased.

After that, they wrote and released one of their strongest albums "This Godless Endeavor".
