First known as Catacomb, Novembre play a sort of ambient/death/goth hybrid very similar to Opeth (though much better, IMO). My best description would be to take Opeth, strip down the death growls to a more listenable level, and throw in some of the emotion of Evereve's "The Stormbirds" CD. Their style has varied some, with the earlier work being a little more technical and the later work evoking more emotion, but each release has been great. Classica is probably their best, but the others don't fall too far behind. A highly recommended band.

After a few years of invisibility, the band is back in 2006 with a new release "Materia" using a session bassist, and an upcoming download-only EP.
