Band: Cannibal Corpse

Originally from Buffalo in New York, but now solidly based in the staunch American death metal capital of Tampa, Florida, Cannibal Corpse have turned gore into an artform and cut a template that's been copied by thousands. The replacement of Barnes with Fisher polarised fans but in truth the transition made little difference as by then Cannibal Corpse had established their basic sound and haven't really deviated from it since.
They really peaked with 'The Bleeding' and 'Vile' and since then have just repeated old formulas, although 'Gore Obsessed' showed that they still have room for a few good ideas. The next album returned to basics.
