Band: Devil Doll

It's a debate putting Devil Doll on a metal site. This is more prog rock with metal tendencies. That said, this is some of the darkest music I have ever heard. It's centered mainly around the mastermind who goes by the name Mr. Doctor. Only a madman could think up these arrangements (and a madman he may as well be, supposedly he burnt "ritualisticly" many copies of his first album). There is mainly dark orchestral arrangements which would fit right in with any horror movie. The vocals are some of the most emotional and insane sounds I have ever heard. There are some parts which have enough heaviness to put any other prog metal band to shame. Their last release I think was in 1997, so doubt they are putting anything else out. If you are looking for super heavy and upbeat music, look elsewhere. However, if you are looking to explore the deeper, darker side of progressive metal, you've found your band.
