Band: Sacred Reich

Location:
Status:

Sacred Reich's debut is an excellent thrash metal disc, thanks in most part to the excellent drumming of Greg Hall. Over the next two releases, the chaotic thrash approach on the debut evolved into a tight thrash sound reminiscent of their Bay Area counterparts. "The American Way" is their definitive work and stands out, IMO, as one of the best thrash albums ever released. After that album, Greg Hall left the band and was replaced by Dave McClain, who later became known as the drummer for Machine Head. The sound then shifted to a more bluesy-metal sound, which was good for what it was but never seemed to live up to their previous efforts. After the relatively weak Heal, the band decided to call it a day.

Sacred Reich reformed to play live in 2007. It is not known if any recordings will follow.
