"Koldbrann was formed by Mannevond in early 2001, with the intention of making a cold and ugly Black Metal assault, without any trendy and faggoth elements! A while later guitarist Dragev joined, and at the end of the year everything was set for a demo but Dragev chose to leave. A short while after Kvass came in as a replacement and the band startet rehearsing, without a drummer, but luckily they soon came in contact with Fordervelse who joined and took the band to a whole new level!
In July 2002 Koldbrann recordead their first demo 'Pre-Prod 2002' in their own 'studio' NekroTrygd, with Kjøttring contributing on bass. As the title indicates this was meant as sort of a pre-production for an upcoming demo, containing only two songs. Anyway it was released as a demo CD ( printed in 500 copies, not available anymore! )
The demo was spread very well in the Norwegian underground as well as abroad, and it recieved almost nothing but great response and reviews! This led to Koldbrann signing a deal with Scottish underground label Desolate Landscapes ( for a full-length CD release ), and later on with Norwegian Apocalyptic Empire Records ( for a 7 inch EP ). In the meantime Jonas aus Slavia had joined on session-bass and Koldbrann did its first live show at the Legions of the North festival, with other great Norwegian underground acts like Endsum, Grenjar, and Vidsyn. A few weeks later they played at the Pandemonium Metal Club #12 in Oslo, again with Endsum, as support for Madder Mortem.
In December '02 the rehearsal tape 'Mislyder fra Det Nekrotiske Kammer' was released ( printed in very few copies, not available! ), as a preview for the upcoming CD. And in January they played at Garage in Bergen at Atterljom Metal Club's first arrangement.
'Nekrotisk Inkvisition' was recordead in February and mixed & mastered in March 2003. The debut CD is supposed to be out in April. In March Jonas aus Slavia ( Hail! ) decided to quit.. General Kshatriya ( Disiplin, ex. Myrkskog + + ) and Mpress ( Zeenon ) joined short after as livemembers on (2nd)guitar and bass. In April Koldbrann will play at the Inferno Festival and in Trondheim! For more info see here.
