Candiria was originally like a cross between Cynic and The Dillinger Escape Plan, a savage and effective combination of jazz-metal, death metal and technical hardcore. On September 9, 2003, the entire band was almost killed when a truck rear-ended their tour van. The band's latest album veers from their previous style toward a cross between melodic heavy rock and nu-metal.
