Band: The Beyond
Location:
Status:
The Beyond combine progressive thrash metal with some very interesting slap bass. The rhythm section is guilty of being a little too repetitive on the debut, but its really a minor complaint because what they do, they do well. The vocalist does a fine job with his mid-range melodic vocal style, as well. The only band I know of that sounds remotely similar is Gracepoint, but the similarities end with the rhythm section. I prefer the more aggressive sound of the debut, but both albums here are excellent. Keep an eye on ebay for these 2, since they are both long out of print.
