Band: Skinlab

Like Machine Head, Skinlab dragged the spirit of the 80s Bay Area sound into the 90s with their first album. Also like Machine Head, the band has since moved into the nu-metal area, although Skinlab's drift has been more gradual. The second album formed an almost perfect balance between the two styles but the third is undoubtedly a nu-metal release and Skinlab seems to have fallen from favour since. The band foreshadowed a new album in June 2003 but a month later Skinlab announced an extended hiatus instead, although they went on tour with Slayer a few months later.
