Watchtower invented chaotic technical metal and have yet to be outdone. While the second release is more technical, incorporating odd time signatures and the inventive guitarwork of Ron Jarzombek, the debut is more metallic and aggressive, while still being very technical, especially in the amazing rhythm section. Both releases are excellent, though I don't care much personally for the vocals on either release (very 80s sounding, high pitched screaming type vocals). The group disbanded in the early 90's when Ron suffered a serious hand injury that required surgery, but reformed a couple years ago and played a show or two. Work is underway, ableit slowly, on a new album, tenatively titled "Mathematics", which will hopefully be released in 2003.
