Band: While Heaven Wept

Largely the brain child of guitarrist Tom Phillips, WHW has been through numerous name and line-up changes since its inception in 1989. Their music has evolved over the years and its been described as melodic progressive doom metal. It's extremely well-done and depressing doom, with haunting melodies and atmospheres which are beautifully combined with prog metal elements. Fans of Veni Domine, Memento Mori, and Solitude Aeturnus should get themselves a copy of "Of Empires Forlorn..."

A new album, named "Vast Oceans Lachrymose", was slated for release in 2006 and then postponed for late 2007.
