Aghora play a version of technical metal that combines jazz-fusion, metal, and middle-eastern influences with ethereal female vocals. Though somewhat similar to Cynic, their style is unique and quite intriguing. One of the best technical metal bands playing today.

A sophomore effort titled Formless, in the works since 2002, has finally been released in December 2006.  Endless delays and lineup changes kept it from being completed, but with Alan Goldstein rejoining the band to replace Andy Deluca (who previously replaced Goldstein who replaced Malone who replace Deluca), Sean Reinert agreeing to record half of the drum tracks, and new vocalist Diana Serra, it was finally recorded and released.
