After leaving Purgatory, vocalist Jeff Hatrix formed Hatrix along with brothers Dave (Guitar) and Steve (Drums) Felton. Much heavier than Purgatory, Hatrix could be considered quality speed/thrash metal with some pretty clever (and disturbing) lyrics. With time, they added a bit more power groove to their sound (aka Pantera.) Much to my disappointment, the band disbanded due to the success of Mushroomhead (which contains 3 Hatrix members.)
