PileDriver was a character created to provide vocals to two separate projects, the first by Leslie Howe and the second a side-project by Dave DeFeis and Edward Pursino of Virgin Steele. "Metal Inquisition" was cheesy but riotously catchy thrash. The second album was poor. Kirchin formed a new line-up of the band in early 2004 and has since been working on a comeback album.
