Jag Panzer's early material was somewhat similar to a cross between Judas Priest and Manowar with a very distinctive vocal presence from Conklin. After he and Taffola left the went to ground for a few years and recorded the Chain of Command album that was never released before re-emerging with an excellent comeback album in 1997. Sometimes Jag Panzer's material is completely generic and occasionally songs seem to exist as an excuse for almost unbridled guitar solo excess, but for the most part they are a thoroughly enjoyable band. Chain of Command was finally issued in 2004.

Daniel Conca, the vocalist on the band's 1994 album, died in March 2004.
