Band: The Plasmatics

Location:
Status:

The Plasmatics was a vehicle for NY punk singer Wendy O. Williams. Eventually the music took on a rough and ready Motorhead-type vibe with always clever lyrics and a confronting visual style featuring Williams sporting an enormous mohawk while performing virtually naked. After "Coup d'Etat" the band disintegrated although Williams threw together a line-up for the 1987 release.

After a long-running battle with depression, Wendy O. Willams killed herself with a shotgun on April 8, 1998.
