If you took an instrumental version of Mastodon, threw in some acoustic segues, added a dash of jazz fusion (just a hint), and threw in some of the crazy spasticness of Dillinger Escape Plan, you'd be right about where Trephine is.
Fans of instrumental metal who don't mind a little metalcore sound in their music should dig these guys.
