Lord Gore was formed in 1998 as a side project of Wraithen; a black metal band SCSI, Gurge, and Nekro were in. Hordak and Gurge came up with the idea of starting an old school death metal band that was influenced by the classic death metal bands with a doomy touch, like Autopsy and Impetigo.
