Band: D.R.I. (Dirty Rotten Imbeciles)
D.R.I. play old school thrash mixed with punk. Very fast, short songs are the mainstay of their sound, though they did start to develop more structured songs on their later CDs. They still tour extensively and continuously promise a new studio effort is in the works, but it seems doubtful it will ever come to fruition. IMO, Definition is their strongest effort, offering both the best production and most consistent songwriting, but Four of a Kind is definitely close behind for its comedic approach and inventive rhythmic structures.
The band relocated to Seattle, WA in late 2005, and founder/leader Spike Cassidy diagnosed with cancer in 2006. It was removed successfully, but now he is going through the long chemotherapy process. Information about helping out is available on their website.
