Marco Anvito, Allan, Luiz and Antônio Saba formed Hicsos in 1990. They started as a thrash metal band in the vein of Nuclear Assault, Slayer and Kreator. When drummer Luiz left the band around 1997, Marcelo Ledd comes to the band adding the hardcore element in the music, with more heavier guitars, more aggressive beat, influenced by bands like Bioharzad, Agnostic Front, S.O.D and Machine Head.
The word "hicsos" originally was attributed to the barbaric people that had dominated Egypt in the time of Faraos.
