Aletheian is a central Pennsylvania based metal band, formerly know as Crutch. The band decided to take a new name when they underwent a major line-up change around 2003, but the style and material of the band didn't change with the name. They are predominantly a Death Metal band, but they blend elements from technical, progressive, european, and melodic metal into their music, and the result is a very convincing and unique style that sets them appart from all the Death/Cynic clones that are all too common to the genre.
