Nemesis started in 1989, playing a kind of sludgy hard rock/metal with death vocals. It's an interesting approach, and it leaves me with no band to compare them to, but it's actually fairly catchy stuff.
They broke up in 1994, but then reformed in 2001. Most of their tunes are available as mp3s on their website, so go check it out (make sure to click the "English" link unless you can read Czech).
