Death Angel are one of the many "Bay Area" thrash bands of the late 80's. The one thing that separates them from the pack is their focus on vocal harmonies which is somewhat lacking in many of the other similar bands of that era. Many consider Ultra-Violence to be their best work, while I rather prefer Act III as it shows the strongest songwriting and musicianship. Following the departure of the vocalist the band changed the name to "The Organization", which has since disbanded. Several members went on to form Swarm.

After a long absence, Death Angel has reunited and released "The Art of Dying" to lukewarm reviews. I have yet to hear it.
