Queensrÿche is one of the best known progressive metal bands. Their early sound was similar to Iron Maiden but by Operation: Mindcrime they had developed a pretty unique style of progressive melodic metal. O:M is still considered one of the best metal albums of all time. After Chris Degarmo left much of the spark was dimmed. Q2K and Tribe (recorded after Degarmo returned briefly) are ill-considered.
