After first exploding onto the UK's underground metal scene as far back as 1996 the mighty INFESTATION have slowly but surely been refining their "older than old school Floridian style" Death Metal sound into the crushing metallic force that it is today. In fact within just a year of their inception the London four-piece were already racking up sell-out headline gigs at London's infamous Braindead and Devils Church clubs and soon found themselves supporting CENTURY MEDIA's favourite Greek sons ROTTING CHRIST on the UK leg of their then tour. Not bad for a few months work

Gig upon gig upon gig helps while away most of 1998 as they search for that ever elusive record deal. Eventually disheartened with waiting for someone else to realise their genius, the band funds and releases their debut EP "Curse Of Creation". Four tracks of more punishing old school death you would be hard pushed to find and it seems that the public agree. The pressing immediately sells out!

Word is now spreading fast, and by February 1999 no less than Terrorizer have granted the band an upfront feature (a rarity for an unsigned band) and are claiming Infestation to be "this country's sole contender in the brutal death metal stakes!". On the back of their new found "fame" the band book themselves into the Robert Peel venue in London and proceed to sell out the 250 capacity and reduce the audience to little more than human wreckage with their guttural roar! INFESTATION then go on to secure slots with Century Media giants ROTTING CHRIST, Poland's VADER, DISMEMBER, CANNIBAL CORPSE. Terrorizer xmass fest, etc. - the list goes on.

The band are beginning to look all but unstoppable in their quest for Death Metal domination until a potentially disastrous tragedy strikes Drummer Dave Hirschheimer quits to join CRADLE OF FILTH. Far from buckling under the strain of frustration however, the boys bounce right back with Irish powerhouse Declan Malone behind the kit and walk straight into an Immolation support slot and recording contract with newly established Swedish label Lunasound Recording.

Infestation split around 2001 when the vocalist, Dave, went to prison on a section 18 GBH charge. When released from prison in 2003, Dave joined PUTREFY for one album, then moved from Northern Ireland to London to reform INFESTATION. Giuseppe couldn't commit to the reformation due to his commitment in CORPSING. Jamie was not interested in Death Metal anymore, Declan was in Ireland, and Dave Hirschheimer was apparently busy in projects outside of Death Metal.

The INFESTATION album from 2000, "Mass Immolation", is a brutal Death Metal album in the vein of the first Deicide and early Malevolent Creation. The blast beats are notably very fast.
