Based in Sweden, Majestic Vanguard represent the growing genre of Christian power metal. Following in the path of Divinefire and Narnia, they present a positive uplifting alternative to a lot of modern metal. The music owes much to bands such as Rhapsody and Stratovarius, weaving traditional and folk rhythms with good old melodic speed metal. Formed in 1993, they succeded in doing some touring and recording demos before the inevitable split up and name change. When they returned ten years later along with new name, vocalist and guitarist, it was to produce a solid addition to the power metal discography with Beyond the Moon. As yet the majority of thier live performances have been in Sweden, so they have yet to impact the metal world as a whole.
