With a sound reminiscent of Dream Theater's Change of Seasons, Alkemy is a French band that incorporates jazz & fusion elementes into a prog metal background, with an end result somewhat similar to 7for4 early albums.
They started out as a trio in 2000 but decided to incorporate a keyboard player after playing for a year or so. IMO, their weakest point are their vocals, and while they're not horrible, they're not great either. But if you can get past this there's a lot to enjoy in their music.
