Band: Zonaria

Formed in 2001 by Simon Berglund, Christoffer Wikström, and Mikael Hammarberg, the band would originally go under the name Seal Precious. Initially the band would feature a power metal style, with clean vocals. Several line-up changes would prevent the band from recording. In 2003 with the addition of second guitarist, Emil Nyström the band would change their name to Zonaria. Zonaria would then spend two years playing gigs in and around Umeå before recording any material. The band would record Evolution Overdose and release it in May, 2005. Following the release of the demo, the band would go through changes in the line-up again, which ended with the announcement of drummer Emanuel ”Cebbe” Isaksson and bassist Jerry Ekman. Evolution Overdose would catch the attention of then, upstart independent record label Pivotal Rockordings.

In the spring of 2006, Zonaria would record new material in the form of the CD single, "Rendered In Vain". It was then, Zonaria would begin to tour outside of Sweden, opening up for Finnish black metal band Impaled Nazarene on a European tour. Zonaria would also shoot a video for the song "Rendered in Vain" with Standard Film Team. In October, Zonaria would announce they had signed a record deal with Swedmetal Records to release their single "Rendered in Vain". The song, "Rendered in Vain" would also be featured in the video game, The Darkness.

In November of 2006, Pivotal Rockordings would sign Zonaria. Quickly after the signing, the band would enter Black Lounge Studios with Per Nilsson and Jonas Kjellgren of Scar Symmetry to begin recording their debut album. Their full length debut, entitled Infamy and the Breed is scheduled for release in September. In late July, bassist Jerry Ekman announced his departure. He was replaced by Markus Åkebo. The band are currently scheduled to film a video for the lead single, "The Armageddon Anthem" will be "shot in the largest crane factory in Scandinavia."
