A consummate guitarist, Steve Vai has really only made one album that could be described as heavy metal, Sex and Religion, but his influence on the genre is large. An instrumentalist whose oeuvre includes blues, jazz, rock, pop and extended experimental compositions, Vai is one of the best guitarists of his generation.
