Founded in 2001 and originally called Serene, this band underwent a number of line-up and stylistic changes before settling on their current artistic direction. Their name was changed to Memoira when Pitkälä joined the band in 2007.
Their music is a mix of elements from Melodic Doom, Goth and Progressive Metal, but rather than become another "beauty & the beast" Nightwish clone, they have a very unique style that sets them appart from the rest, due in no small part to Jemina's vocals.
I highly recommend this band to anyone with even a passing interest in metal.
