Super-String-Theory has developed a technical yet progressive instrumental sound. They mix endless styles of music into their compositions, most notably Heavy, Prog metal, Neo-Classical, Technical Metal, Fussion and even Latin guitar melodies, so it's very hard to pin them down to one style.
Very complex yet never boring, but it's not for everyone. Check them out if you enjoy 7for4, Watchtower, Macalpine, Kopecky and the like.
