Eternity X (originally known as Eternity, but changed due to there being another band with the same moniker) has had a rather up-and-down history. The early material is somewhere between prog and power metal, and while it is decent, it still felt lacking something special. With "The Edge", regarded by many as a prog metal classic, the band's potential became fully realized. It's a concept album about a serial killer who targets Catholic priests. Some of the songs contain internal monologue as the killer falls off the edge into insanity. Great stuff.
After it's release, there were some internal struggles within the band, and eventually the band broke apart. Keith Sudano tried to keep things going, but after a few years of struggling to get a new album released, he finally gave it up.
Fast forward to late 2005, when Keith began looking for new musicians to revive the band. Striking a deal with Black Lotus Records to re-release the back catalog, as well as a compilation of early demos, things are looking up for Eternity X. Once musicians are in place, the plan is to record a new CD that was long-ago written but never completed entitled "From the Ashes", and then to tour and hopefully continue producing new material.
