Band: Yngwie Malmsteen

Swedish guitar genius Yngwie Malmsteen has released albums under both his own name and the epithet Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Rising Force. The first album won a Grammy nomination and the second and (particularly) the third are up to the same standard, even if they suffered lapses in the songwriting department and relied mostly on Malmsteen's blazing guitar work to keep the listener interested. Since then he's relied on formula and cliche for the most part, with only occasional flashes of inspiration. War to End All Wars is probably the best of his later works, even if the production is terrible.
