Chalice produced some wonderful dark Gothic metal with a distinct doom element on their first album, which was re-recorded for wider release in 1999. After that they moved away from the doom sound toward a majestic Gothic style that is quite good but Augmented lacked real stand-out songs. A line-up change occured following the 2006 release, then in June 2007 the group disbanded.
