Forbidden are the greatest of the great bay area thrash bands. "Twisted Into Form" is a masterpiece in every sense and should be in every metalhead's collection. While some prefer the debut, I find the better production, songwriting, and musicianship of Twisted to be more enjoyable. "Distortion" shows the band continuing in fine form, despite having label problems. "Green" is a departure from their previous sound, and is considered by many (myself included) to be their worst. They opted to go for a more down-tuned, Pantera-ish style, which works to some degree but is a disappointment in comparison to the others in their catalog. Yet, I still really enjoy it, which should say a lot about their other releases. This is my personal favorite band, and I have no reluctance in recommending them to everyone, especially "Twisted" and "Distortion" which are both in my top 20 all-time list. Several members moved on to other projects (most notably Calvert who played on Nevermore's masterpiece "Dreaming Neon Black"), which should all eventually be documented here.
