Ion Vein play complex American power metal that borders on progressive metal. The debut was good, but a little lacking in variety. The sophomore effort shows marked improvement both in the music and in the production. While not sounding like any band in particular, fans of Iced Earth, Nevermore, or Fates Warning should enjoy Ion Vein.
They parted ways with their vocalist just as tracking was getting underway for a forthcoming release, in May 2006.
