Yes ladies and gentalman, this IS the band that coined the catch phrase "The Band that turned Nashville into Thrashville!". Intruder was one of the more uniqe bands to emerge in the late 80's just as thrash metal was beging to dominate the underground. The band released "Live to Die" in 87', which would later bring them to the door step of Metal Blade records. Intruder released the thrash classic "A Higher Form of Killing" in 89' and hit the road in support and confirmed that the boys from Tennesse could thrash it up just as well, if not better, than the big dogs, and If you have any doubt, the brutal track "Killing Winds" will quickly put your mind at ease as it will pummel your ears with no mercy. Keeping good pace, Intruder realesed the EP "Escape From Pain" which included previously recorded and unreleased tracks. one of the most notable tunes on the EP is the cover of the Chicago rocker "25 or 6 to 4" which is done with every bit of class along with Intruders own little twist to it. 1991 saw the release of the bands darkest and heaviest album "Psycho Savant", it was at this time that thrash was starting to see it's slow death and sadly saw this amazing gem of an album become overlooked by thrash fans due the flood of copy-cat bands. Intruder faded into the background shortly after and it was certain that these guys from "Thrashville" would never be heard of again.... until just recently. Intruder reformed and returned to the stage in 2002 with their higher form of thrashing, churing heads and taking no prisoners at the 2nd seesion of the Classic Metal Festival in Cleveland, OH. (NOTE: we played this fest the day prior to Intruder...and we missed thier show due to a leangthy trek home. From what I'm to understand, They crushed everything in sight!). At this point it seems that Intruder have reunited to relive the good times of chaos and speed and spread the nostalga to the fans. Hopefully, if time and pateince prevail... possibly another slab of thrashing mayhem as well??? It's this Librarians personal opinion that this band didn't just turn Nashville into Thrashville...but every town across the U.S., including my own hometown!
