Bands By Genre: Ambient Metal: Page 1
Ambient metal is a style of music that focuses more on ambient soundscapes than noticeable riffing. Sometimes this effect is referred to as a "wall of noise". However, most bands that employ this style also incorporate another genre, creating a unique mix of styles. Bands like Neurosis and Isis have a sort of Ambient Hardcore sound, where the base of the music is rooted in hardcore, but the music is repeated and added to, and over time, attains a very ambient feel. A purely ambient band would be something akin to Infidel?/Castro! or Tribes of Neurot, where there is no noticeable structure to the sound.
