Bands By Genre: Metalcore
As the name suggests, metalcore is a cross between hardcore and metal, usually typified by hardcore-style vocals and breakdowns with thrash metal guitar riffs and drumming. Originally played by bands like Vision of Disorder who aligned themselves with punk but added metal aspects, the genre has now become widespread, incorporating high degrees of melody and much of leaner further toward metal aestethics than the earlier metalcore bands.
