Bands By Genre: Black Metal: Page 2
Black Metal fans will probably argue that any definition I give is incorrect, but my understanding is that Black Metal is European Power Metal's Satanic cousin. Lyrical focus on Pagan or Satanic themes, murder, mayhem, etc, are the norm. Bad production is actually considered a good thing for some reason. Vocals are generally raspy and screamed (kind of a hybrid between Death Metal's growling and European Power Metal's high-pitched wailing).
