Band: Mortification

Mortification is a Christian band with a style that changes frequently. Early on they were a thrash band but heavied up to something similar to a Bolt Thrower-ish grind on what is arguably their best  album, Scrolls of the Megilloth. They changed their sound again to a thrashy death style, went in a prog direction on Envision Evangelene and have since gone in a more traditional metal direction. Lyrically, the band is very preachy (Rowe is an evangelist minister) but the albums up to Envision... are musically solid enough to appeal to anyone. Rowe almost died from lymphocarcoma after this, but almost completely recovered. Since then Mortification's work has been patchy and line-ups have changed frequently.
