I have been involved in the underground metal scene in Australia since the mid-1980s, as a fan, band manager, promoter and critic and writer. I have published the print zine 'LOUD!' since early 1996 and March 2002 saw my book 'The Australian Metal Guide' appear in print for the first time. That book has now entered its fifth edition as of November 2005. Over the years I have written about metal for various magazines and websites. I also host a metal/heavy rock programme from a radio station in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney. In May 2004 I became the proprietor of the Metal merchandise website PureMetalWear.com.

Although I have lived in Australia for more than 10 years now, I was born in Cuba in 1971, where I grew up listening to any music I could get my hands on, not only metal but hard rock, symphonic, heavy, power, thrash, doom, etc. Eventually, I found out that I enjoyed more bands that were either unique in style or very technical, and got into all kinds of prog and technical music.

Working on this site has allowed me to share some of those bands with the rest of the world and, at the same time, learn from other contributors about groups and musicians I was not even aware of. This is an awesome thing to be involved in.

Crazy, open-minded and fully into metal is how I want to be remembered. I've been listening to metal for the past 3 or 4 years, and I haven't been disappointed yet. My tastes range through all genres of metal, from black to death to power to metalcore, with a whole host in between.
I sing sometimes, and write my own lyrics. Looking to start a band at some point in the near future.

Currently residing in the UK, but due to go abroad in a few years if all goes well.
