Band: Mystere De Notre Dame

These guys put out one of the best Italian prog metal discs I've ever heard. Their sound is complex, but heavily orchestrated. There is also plenty of melody. At times, with it's singer and some of the arrangements, it reminds me of Phantom's Opera.
The standout here, though, is the keyboards. The runs and fills are both powerful and intricate.
Considering they only released one disc in 1996, I don't expect to hear another note from them.
The band was born in 1993, starting as a thrash oriented progressive band, they changed their sound with a keyboardist in 1995.
