Band: Queensr˙che

Queensr˙che took the energy and accessibility of the emerging LA glam scene and blended it with classic British-style and progressive metal to create a sound that was powerful and unique. To date, few bands actually sound much like them, though they have influenced many including the likes of Dream Theater, among others. All Queensr˙che's material up to and including "Empire" are masterpieces and the concept album "Operation:Mindcrime" is celebrated as one of the best metal albums ever recorded. "Promised Land" wasn't bad but the albums after that show a marked lack in quality and consistently with few highlights and all the signs of a band content to play by numbers from now on. "Operation: Mindcrime II", conceived and originally recorded in the period after "Empire", is a brilliant return to form.
