Originally conceived as an instrumental Prog Metal outfit back in 2003, Tesseract decided they wanted to express a wider range of emotions in their music and added a vocalist to their line up before releasing their first demo.
Their music alternates between heavy, complex melodies, not unlike Meshuggah and Periphery, and more mellow, conventional melodic prog passages, which makes for a very unique style indeed. Their vocalist has a very moving and melodic voice that somehow complements their music perfectly.
Highly recommended!
