Moonspell began almost as a death metal band, but with a heavily Gothic aspect that became more prominent as they continued. Wolfheart is a Goth-metal masterpiece that made their name; after this they began to get poppier and lost momentum but Darkness and Hope reversed their fortunes and since then they have recovered. Most of their albums are really worthwhile.
