Band: Pestilence

Starting out as a primitive death/thrash band like early Death, or demo-era Cynic, Pestilence progressed over the span of four records into a technical death band, in a similar style to Cynic's focus. Although not as technical as latter day Death or Cynic, Pestilence were an important part in the Technical Death scene, and many other bands cite them as a huge influence in their own sounds.

Mameli formed a new band with Choy called C-187, who play (believe it or not) "gangsta metal fusion".  Hip hop meets metal meets jazz fusion.  Early samples are an interesting listen, but man do the rapping vocals annoy me.  Their debut is to be recorded in early 2007 with an eye on a mid 2007 release.
