Band: Fear Factory
Fear Factory began as a rather mediocre death metal band, became a great band with Demanufacture, then rescended back into mediocrity with a nu-metallish finale called Digimortal (with Obsolete being somewhere between the 2 in terms of quality). They are especially noteworthy for their seamless combination of industrial music and death metal. Also of note is that they were the band you could hear in the Mortal Kombat movie while Johnny Cage was fighitng Scorpion (one of their better songs off Demanufacture).
In 2002 they disbanded due to "deep-rooted differences" betweem guitarist Dino Cazares and the rest of the band which forced vocalist Burton Bell to leave. In early 2003, they reformed without Cazares and recorded what many call a true return to form in "Archetype".
