Band: Katagory V

Katagory V has in its ranks Dustin Mitchell (who used to be a librarian here), so he could probably give you a detailed discourse on their history, but I'll spare you that. On their debut they played a combination of American power metal and prog metal (leaning more to the prog side), but their followup has its roots in 80s Bay Area thrash (still with elements of both prog and power). While there is significant influence from a host of 80s metal bands, Katagory V play their own particular style, and I can't honestly think of another band to compare them to.
